Deep Moisturizing Body Butter

This moisturizing butter is one of my favorite recipes. It’s quick and easy to make, it will last you for a while, and your skin will feel soft and smell good all day. I make it all the time for myself, my kids and my husband. I bought a bunch little mason jars and ribbons and use them to gift the butter to my friends and family. They generally love it and it’s personalized.

 

Difficulty Level: Easy

Prep time: 10 minutes

Total time: 2h30

Ingredients:

Glass or metal bowl

Stand or hand mixer

The Base: Choose 2 out of 3

The Oils: Both are needed

The scent: Choose 1

Directions:

  1. Place the bowl in the a pot of boiling water, the same way a double boiler works.
  2. Add the two butters (Shea, Mango or Cocoa), the Almond Oil and the Coconut Oil. Wait until they melt completely.
  3. Stir lightly and store in fridge for 2-3 hours.
  4. Add the essential oil (Sweet Orange, Lavender or Peppermint) and whip until the mixture become fluffy.
  5. Pour into mason jar.
  6. Share on Facebook, Instagram or Twitter and enjoy!!

I love this body butter. Every time I put it on it takes over 30 mins to absorb and even then I am leaving grease trails everywhere. Do you have a suggestion for better absorption or cut down the greasiness? I use the Shea and mango cream as my base.

Well, I just used Almond oil and a little jojoba and it works, It just depends on your skin needs. Thanks for your response.

Is there another oil that is equivalent to coconut oil. I recently discovered after many years of using and consuming coconut oil, I have developed an allergy to it. I have avocado and jojoba?
